Dr. Adele Nguyen practices in general obstetrics and gynecology. She completed her medical training at McMaster University and continues being involved with education as an Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct). She is passionate about the care of women over their lifetime, from pediatric/adolescent gynecology to menopause. She provides medical and surgical management for common gynecological concerns such as menstrual dysfunction, postmenopausal issues, sexual health, vulvar conditions, benign fibroids and polyps, and contraception,. She also performs in office procedures such as colposcopy, IUD insertion, and pessary care. In the appropriate surgical candidate, she strives to perform minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery.  Dr. Nguyen has a special interest in medical conditions in pregnancy and is part of the multidisciplinary care team at the Gestational Diabetes clinic at Joseph Brant Hospital.  When not at work, she is running after her two boys and trying to keep up with them!

Dr. Elizabeth Markowski was born and raised in Hamilton. She is a graduate of Queen’s University, where she studied Life Sciences. She then earned her medical degree from Trinity College, University of Dublin in Ireland, and completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at McMaster University in June 2017. Dr. Markowski has a particular interest in the

care of children and adolescents with gynecological concerns. Dr. Markowski lives in Hamilton with her husband, 3 daughters, and dog named Winston. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, exercising, scuba diving, snowboarding and practicing yoga. She is always excited to be part of the Joseph Brant Hospital community and is grateful to work alongside fantastic colleagues that make up the Burlington Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a team of practitioners who are dedicated to women’s health.

Drs. Nguyen and Markowski work in a job share model. Obstetrical patients get to see both physicians throughout their pregnancy. Gynecological patients once referred will get to see the first available physician and usually continue their care with that physician. This practice model gives referring physicians and patients quicker access to women's care, more availability for appointments, and reduced wait times.
